The deck work continues. Along with waxing we've sanded all or our teak (not that much really). Next comes oiling it with a little teak oil so it's looking fresh.

Kingsley, you owe us one! After 11 years this poor boat has a name! For some reason the previous owner of 11 years (clean your boat dude!) didn't name the vessel (which I'm pretty sure is against Coast Guard rules). We had a debate on whether or not to paint or use a decal, we ended up going with the decals. They were a little tricky to put on, however, my neighbor was gone so we used his side of the dock to pull Kingsley away from our side. In the end they came out pretty sharp. We chose decal so we could have the exact fonts we liked in the mock-up. It's about time! ~Paul, Amber ETC From the Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou: You think you'll want to change your name? - Ned? - No, not the Ned part. Unless you want to. I meant your last name. I thought you might like to let me give you mine. - Ned Zissou. - Ned Zissou. Exactly. Or, if you want to, you can change the first part too. I would have named you Kingsley, if I'd had a say in it. Kingsley. Wait a minute, could all of this cleaning be for something? Oh ya, Kingsley is a sailboat...key word...sail...
We've taken her out 4-5 times so far, fixed a few little sail things, otherwise it has been smooth sailing. We'll post some pics from last month's haul-out later this week. ~Paul, Amber ETC |
