The [temporary\ Wine Cellar aboard Kingsley

Our wine cabinet under our Force 10 stove aboard our boat Kingsley
An under stove wine cellar aboard our sailboat.
We found a sweet little spot under our stove for our at the marina wine cellar. The reason it is the 'at the marina' is because I'm pretty sure it would all crash when we start sailing. A sailing solution is in the works...one idea is we just drink all of the wine before then:)

Cleaning the inside of Kingsley.

A newly cleaned galley aboard our new liveaboard sailboat Kingsley.
OK, so it took a little bit to get our new Hunter sailboat Kingsley looking this good (you're welcome Kingsley). Our two best friends throughout the initial cleaning were/are Simple Green and a wet/dry shop-vac. We decided to work on the inside first since we are planning to move aboard ASAP.
Below are a few pics of what we're dealing with...probably about 11 years of dog fur, moisture, a little mold, a little oil, and rust. Not too bad, but it still took (is taking) a lot of work to get her in shape. Clean your boats people!

Storage under the seat in the salon - apparently a great place to throw half empty oil containers.

Lots of green.

So, you get the idea...it could be worse as boats go...but still icky. Here's a few post-cleaning pictures of the salon to cleanse the palate. The aft cabin, galley, head, and salon are finished. Up next: the V=berth and then we move up to the cockpit and deck!

Introducing S/V Kingsley!

Our new Hunter 320 sailboat at her slip at the Shilshole Marina in Seattle, WA
Dear Dad,
We're not renters anymore...well except for the slip.
Love, Everyone's Travel Club
P.S. Slip = boat parking space

We finally did it - after a lot of time spent looking, stressing, packing, selling, downsizing, offering, test-sailing, surveying, saving, spending, calling, emailing...we finally purchased our new home.
We are the proud new owners of a 32 foot Hunter sailboat that we will be living aboard (living on a 32, crazy?) and sailing in the Pacific Northwest. We will blog about our new adventure here on the site - most posts will be under the new 'S/V Kingsley' (S/V = sailing vessel) tab at the top of the page. Big adventure posts will be posted on both blogs but we'll keep the servicing of the head-type posts only in Kingsleyland (head = boat toilet). Time to celebrate!
