Wrapping up the Oregon Mini-road trip: Free Showers in Florence!

Our mini Oregon road trip wouldn't have been complete without telling you a little secret kept in the quaint, historic old town section of Florence (map). Not the sprawl part of town…I'm talking near the Marina/RV/Campground exists...free showers!!! Boo-yes stinky travelers!!! We had been camping at nearby Waxmyrtle, exploring the Dunes and other stops (here & here). Our campground didn't have showers so we were on the lookout. We stopped at a pay to do laundry/shower place in the newer part of town and a nice gentleman told us to search for the free showers near the port! He was right!
Old town Florence has lots more to offer (not just the showers) - cool restaurants, coffee, shops, river walk, and more. It's a great 1/2 day trip if you're close! A clean ending to a great Oregon Coast adventure!

Showers at this location are not free and the doors are key code locked. Access is for campground customers only.

Mike,
Well that ruins everything:) This post is from a few years ago - were they free back then?

My mistake; observed the locks on the doors but not actually locked! Signage makes it sound as though they are restricted in use, but are accessible.

These showers are not free - THEY ARE FOR CAMPERS ONLY! We have one restroom open to the public during business hours 8am-5pm, however, the shower is not accessible during the times when the restroom is open to the public

Amy, thanks for the update. The party is over people! Were they ever public? I used them back in 2014 and Mike (comment above) used them in 2016. I guess we were just lucky (and now smelling fresh!).

There is a laundry mat across from Fred Meyers that offers private pay showers.
