Hello everyone...off we go! Welcome to Everyone's Travel Club road trip month. Every weekday in September we'll be posting about sites around the Western US. Sadly for us (not you) we're already back and are actually busy posting from Kingsley in Seattle. Our posts are taken from three separate trips (with very similar routes) we've taken recently. One trip was with my wife, the other with my best friend, and the last was by myself!
Our route leaves Seattle and heads through Oregon, Idaho, & Utah. We end up down in Moab for a week, hit up Dinosaur National Monument in Colorado, and then pit-stop in Missouri to visit family and kayak part of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. We then shoot up to South Dakota for the Badlands, Wall Drug, Dinosaur Park, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, & Custer State Park. We continue to Devils Tower, the Little Bighorn Battlefield, and Grand Teton National Park. We shoot across Montana & Idaho to return to the Emerald City - home sweet boat. We got lost a few times, trashed one car tire in a lovely place called "Cow Hollow" (while lost), camped a lot, kayaked & sailed a little, got to travel up to the face of Crazy Horse, possibly saw a few jackalopes along the way, hiked, rode on a Greyhound bus for part of the trip (talk about adventure), explored, and took lots & lots of pictures. We're exited to share our adventure with you! Tomorrow we'll kick it off with a little camping in the blue mountains of Oregon while avoiding stopping at any gas stations in the state (anybody know why?). Off we go! ~Paul & Amber ETC
